Specificity
Recognizes a glycoprotein of 18.5-22.5kDa, identified as amphiregulin (AR). Antibody is directed against the region of AR, which binds to heparin and is highly specific to AR. It shows no cross-reaction with EGF, TGFalpha, or HB-EGF. In vitro, AR functions as an autocrine growth stimulator to derive proliferation of colon carcinoma cells, normal and oncogene-transformed mammary epithelial cells, cervical carcinoma cells, prostate cancer cells, and keratinocytes. AR is important in development of human placenta and murine mammary gland.
Storage and Stability
Maintain refrigerated at 2-8°C in undiluted aliquots for up to 12 months.
